Story
60+ Years of Experience
Mark later left the family business and started a new company, M&L Transit, located in Dearborn Heights, MI. M&L became a very successful company providing fuel to thousands of gas stations in Michigan and surrounding states. Many fuel marketers relied on M&L for over 30 years, and in 1990, the company would expand by adding an additional terminal in Indianapolis, IN.
In 2008, Mr. and Mrs. Beard expanded again by starting Beard Transport LLC to conduct over the road trucking services. Then in 2021, the brokerage division was opened to help further service our growing customer demand for transport services and is based in Midland, MI. This company moves all types of freight through various modes of transportation, concentrating on open deck freight and over-dimensional/over-weight loads. By applying the experience and knowledge gained over the last 60+ years, Beard Transport can provide high-performance service to our customers who demand their freight be moved by the best.

Safety
With the construction background that Beard Transport has, we understand how important safety is to our customers. We ensure drivers are always wearing the proper attire while on the job site. This includes, but is not limited to: safety vest, long sleeve pants/shirt, closed-toe footwear, and a hard hat. Additionally, our drivers will properly secure loads to mitigate any claims and/or safety hazards.
Communication & Honesty
Communication is one of the most important aspects of transportation. You need to know when your load will be picked up and delivered and if there are issues along the way, you need to be made aware ASAP. We do not “BS” anyone. It’s trucking, it’s not IF an issue will occur, it’s WHEN. And you want your transportation people to be straight up with you at all times.
